Coffee with nuts was first prepared relatively recently, in the 90s of the last century, in Naples (Italy). As a rule, hazelnuts are used to create this drink, but coffee made with almonds and even peanuts also turns out aromatic. There are several ways to create this original drink, we hasten to offer you three of them. Well, as a bonus, we will reveal the recipe for the popular Dutch coffee, to which, in addition to nuts, cognac is also added.

Traditional hazelnut coffee

The traditional recipe for coffee with nuts is very similar to the familiar Americano. To prepare it, you must first roast coffee and nut beans in the oven or in a dry frying pan; hazelnuts are most often used.

After roasting, they should be ground as finely as possible and also grind the hazelnuts using a coffee grinder to flour. Pour this mixture into 200 ml of water and cook in a pot over low heat. After boiling, it is poured into small cups. Sugar can be added if desired.

For this recipe you can use nutmeg and hazel. Hazelnuts are used as the base because they have a very pronounced aftertaste.

Nut coffee at home

Turkish nut coffee recipe This wonderful drink came to us from distant times and no less distant countries of the peoples of Africa.

Historians still argue about the specific place of origin of coffee at the very beginning of our era (800 years after Christ).

But all opinions agree on one thing - you need to brew coffee in a clay pot. This is how we get the taste of that proper coffee.

The secret to making a great drink is in the choice of coffee beans. I recommend everyone to buy several types of different coffees in tea stores and grind them together, mixing 2-3 types at a time.

You can achieve a light coffee taste or a sticky chocolate taste. One Lviv coffee shop serves “nut” coffee. I immediately liked it, but I never found a coffee bean with such an aroma.

But a way out of the situation was found quite simply - after all, nuts are sold widely, why not grind them and brew them with coffee?

The result simply fascinated me! Now I’ll start experimenting with different varieties of nuts; hazelnuts and almonds seem to me to be even more appropriate than walnuts.

And in general, every woman should be amazingly able to prepare at least one drink and not give the recipe to anyone from her circle, this is our magic, right?

Drink ingredients

“Nut coffee in Turk”:

- coffee beans of 2 varieties - 1 tablespoon; — granulated sugar – 2 teaspoons; — dried star anise – 2 stars; - cinnamon - 1 stick; - salt - on the tip of the knife; — walnuts – 8 pieces; - filtered water - 2 cups.

Homemade recipe with natural hazelnuts

Cappuccino with hazelnuts will give you an unforgettable taste and aroma. If desired, you can exchange nuts for others, such as hazelnuts. Since the size of nut and coffee beans can vary greatly, it is best to roast them separately to avoid burning or mixing of flavors.

To make this coffee at home, you only need additional hazelnuts. The ratio should be 2:1.

The hazelnuts and coffee beans are roasted separately until they darken. Then everything is ground together in a coffee grinder. It is better to choose the coarse grinding mode. This crushed mass is placed in a French press, in which the taste and aroma of the ingredients are most pronounced, and brewed until cooked.

Sugar, various sweet syrups, and milk are added to the finished nut coffee to taste. This work of art can be topped with whipped cream and sprinkled with grated chocolate or cookies.

Coffee with nut syrup

If you don’t have nuts at home, but you have nut and sugar syrups in the refrigerator, then preparing a coffee drink with a nutty flavor is not difficult.

Kenyan Arabica has a bready aroma with a very pleasant aftertaste. Well-known varieties: Kenya AB Ruiruiru and Kenya AA Ruiruiru, which have similar taste qualities. A distinctive feature of the finished drink is that it constantly surprises with a different aroma and taste as you drink the coffee. The coffee has a light tobacco flavor, complemented by the taste of berries and spices.

Coffee with hazelnuts

Hazel is perfect for making this cappuccino. To make it unforgettable you will need only 10 g of coffee, 30 g of hazel and 300 ml of water.

The nuts are roasted in the oven until they turn golden, then ground into dust using a coffee grinder. Then coffee beans and nut dust are mixed in a Turk, the whole thing is filled with water and brought to a boil. After brewing, the hazelnut-based coffee is filtered and poured into cups. You can add sugar and any spices to taste.

With added condensed milk

For those with a sweet tooth, a simple coffee drink with a nutty flavor and condensed milk will suit you. For this you will need 1 tsp. coffee beans, preferably finely ground. They are brewed as usual, then the drink is infused and filtered. Pre-roasted hazelnuts are crushed into fine crumbs using a coffee grinder; a little of this crumb can be left for decoration.

Half a glass of milk, 1 tsp is poured into a saucepan. condensed milk, add ground hazelnuts. All this is mixed and brought to a boil over low heat. The mixture is poured into a tall glass, after which espresso is added. The top of the drink can be decorated with the same nut crumbs or grated chocolate. It is best to drink through a straw.

Coffee with nuts and condensed milk

You will need:

  • finely ground coffee beans - 1 teaspoon,
  • condensed milk – 1 teaspoon,
  • roasted hazelnuts – 30 grams,
  • water – 1/2 cup,
  • milk – 1/2 cup.

Cooking method

  1. We brew coffee beans in the usual way. We insist. We filter.
  2. Grind the hazelnuts in a blender or coffee grinder into fine crumbs. Separate some nuts for decoration.
  3. Mix nuts, condensed milk and milk in a saucepan. Place on the fire and bring to a boil.
  4. Pour the nut-milk mixture into a tall transparent glass.
  5. Pour in coffee.
  6. Sprinkle with nuts. The drink is ready. Let's take out a straw and take a sample!

With nutmeg

Those who like astringency and woody aroma will like nutmeg. In addition, it is he who has an absolutely positive effect on the gastrointestinal tract. The most popular is nutmeg coffee drink with the addition of cinnamon.

Mix 3 tsp in a Turk. finely ground coffee beans and 2 tsp. nutmeg crumbs. The result should be a strong espresso. You can add cinnamon here to taste.

For this recipe it is better to use brown sugar, 3 tsp. which is mixed with egg yolk. This is done while the espresso is boiling.

Combining coffee with nuts takes it to the next level. This drink becomes a real delicacy and even a tradition. You just have to try it!

Types of coffee

In total there are about 40 species of trees, and yet they vary greatly in external description. There are both shrubs and giants up to 7 meters high. But all types and varieties of coffee have been divided into four main groups, by which the type of drink is determined. So in the world it is customary to divide it into the following types:

  • Arabica;
  • Robusta;
  • Liberica;
  • Excelsa.

Each group has special properties, differences in grains and taste. It all depends on the place where the tree grows. The main factors of difference are soil and climate.

The main botanical varieties are Arabica and Robusta. They are the ones that are given special preference in the world. Liberica and Excelsa are too bitter in taste, so they are added only to mixtures of coffee beans to add an interesting bouquet.

There are also single-origin coffees. This is the name for varieties of the drink created from grains that were grown in one place, for example, only in Cuba or Brazil. In this way, manufacturers emphasize the special nature of their product.

Arabica

The most striking and widely sold type of coffee was and remains Arabica, accounting for more than half of all exports. It differs from all others in its mild taste and contains the least caffeine - about one and a half percent.

The drink comes out pleasant and has a slight aroma, and high-quality beans produce real aromatic Arabica beans.

The plant itself is capricious, but people value Arabica, which is grown only on high and warm mountain slopes. In a year, such a tree can produce up to five kilograms of harvest, but in its pure form it will produce only one kilogram of long, even grains suitable for sale.

It is interesting that from the Arabica guatemala species they obtain the Maragodzhip variety, whose beans are twice the size of all others.

Robusta

The unpretentious tree was first discovered in the Congo River area. This plant easily withstands temperature changes and depleted soil, while producing a large number of fruits. Also known as a fast-growing coffee variety.
