Brief information about Baileys
Baileys is a cream liqueur made from natural cream and Irish whiskey. The strength of the alcoholic drink is 17%. The drink has been made since 1974 and during this period of time the drink has been able to gather a huge number of fans, especially from the ladies, thanks to its taste characteristics. To obtain a homogeneous mixture and original taste, the creators spent 4 years. Today the plant produces a huge number of varieties of this liqueur. In addition to Baileys Original, the company produces Baileys with coffee, mint, chocolate, caramel, and hazelnut flavors. Approximately 50% of Ireland's milk is spent on making this wonderful drink. It is believed that Baileys is a great mood lifter and helps fight depression and insomnia. Since the composition includes cream, it is contraindicated to abuse it for those who “protect” their figure.
Composition of Baileys Original
In addition to whiskey and cream, the drink contains granulated sugar, cocoa beans, and vanilla. The softness of the taste is due to the fact that the whiskey is produced using the “triple distillation” technology. It should be noted that the composition contains absolutely no artificial preservatives. The taste characteristics of cream are preserved by alcohol. The main feature of Baileys is the harmonious combination of natural ingredients.
The benefits and harms of coffee with Baileys
It’s surprising to think that a coffee-alcohol cocktail can be good for health, but scientific research shows that drinking espresso liqueur in small quantities is even beneficial, including for the cardiovascular system. A small portion of the drink slightly speeds up blood flow, stimulates the heart to work more actively, and trains blood vessels. In addition, the cocktail reduces stress levels, slightly relaxes and instills positivity and calm. There is very little alcohol there, so even if you drink a cup of Baileys coffee every day, you will not harm your body.
Harm may only lie in individual sensitivity to individual ingredients. And, despite the fact that the alcohol content is small, it is worth waiting before you get behind the wheel.
When consumed in moderation, you will not experience any negative harm, and, on the contrary, your vitality will increase and you will feel good.
Where to buy Baileys coffee beans or ground?
This liqueur is one of the most popular flavors, and in many large stores or coffee and tea outlets you can buy coffee with the taste and smell of Baileys. But you must understand that this is purely a flavoring agent; no one soaks the grains in the liqueur. That is, there is no alcohol, and, in general, no cream either. Your drink will simply acquire a pleasant aroma of whiskey and cream, perhaps a slight aftertaste, but of course it will not look like a real cocktail.
Try it, experiment with proportions and additional ingredients, and you will definitely like this drink, which is also so easy to prepare at home!
The right combination of ingredients for the perfect drink
Whatever recipe for coffee with liqueur is used, the immutable rule is the correct preparation of its base - espresso coffee.
IMPORTANT. Only natural bean coffee is suitable for this drink. The use of instant coffee in the recipe is not allowed.
Espresso is prepared either in a coffee machine or on the stove, using a special coffee maker - Turks.

Online stores offer a large selection of Turkish coffee beans, as well as many varieties of premium quality coffee beans. If desired, everything you need can be purchased at affordable prices. The network will also help you choose a recipe for espresso prepared in a Turk.
Turkish espresso requires very fine grinding of coffee beans. For espresso from a coffee machine, the grinding of the beans can be medium or even coarse.
To get the popular Baileys coffee, liqueur is added to the prepared base, according to the recipes:
- option one. One teaspoon of liqueur is poured into a cup of espresso and whipped cream is spread evenly on top;
- option two. First of all, liqueur is poured into the cup, and then coffee. As in the first case, the drink is decorated with whipped cream.
To ensure that the harmony of taste remains intact, both options exclude the use of sugar. In rare cases, for stubborn sweet tooths, the recipe is supplemented with one piece of sugar.
IMPORTANT. Liquor must be heated before adding to espresso.
And, if you follow the manufacturer’s recommendations, you should always add liqueur to coffee, and not vice versa.
Decorating the drink is a matter of taste and choice of each person. For example, you can use chocolate chips on top of whipped cream. But the best solution would be to preserve a certain canon in which there is no place for excesses.
