What could be better than a cup of aromatic coffee to start the morning? This amazing drink will give you vigor, fill you with vital energy and lift your spirits for the whole coming day.

But in order to prepare a full-fledged drink from coffee beans, it takes time, which is so lacking in the morning.

In this case, Jacobs instant coffee will help. If you are one of the lucky ones who have nowhere to rush in the morning, you have Jacobs coffee beans at your disposal.

History of the brand

Back in 1985, the history of the company began, which today has been on the market for more than 120 years. A shop was opened in Bremen that, in addition to coffee, sold various types of tea and sweets. Only a few decades later a bean roasting plant was opened in Bremen.

Two years later, the Jacobs Kaffee trademark was registered; after this event, all brand products began to be produced in branded packaging, which depicts a bag filled with coffee beans.

During the First World War, the company almost closed, they had to switch to producing more necessary goods at that time, such as various cereals and sugar. When the war ended, the need for coffee products increased again. Jacobs began to be recognized throughout Germany and imported into other countries. By the end of the 20th century, the Jacobs Monarch brand was owned by Kraft Foods. It was after this event that the packaging acquired a green color.

Today, the Jacobs brand belongs to the huge global corporation Jacobs Douwe Egberts, with JDE's head office located in the Netherlands.

It is the second largest coffee company, with 40% of the market.

Production

In Russia, in the early 2000s, a branded product was opened, imported from the Netherlands. The company works with two varieties: robusta and arabica. They are imported from Asia and Latin America and create their own incomparable mixtures on the spot.

Products are made differently for different markets, so if you come across Jacobs coffee not made in Russia, the tastes may differ

The plant carries out such production processes as primary roasting of green beans, powder extraction, deep freezing and then vacuum drying of the resulting extract. High quality products were achieved by the company through the introduction of the latest technologies in manufacturing.

Coffee is available in different types, which gives the consumer a wide choice. It is worth mentioning that if you purchase coffee in soft packaging and not in glass, then after opening it is better to immediately pour it into a jar with a tight-fitting lid, otherwise the coffee will quickly lose its unique aroma. Below are all the types of coffee that Jacobs creates, perhaps in the future there will be even more.

Coffee Jacobs

The company has had to go through a lot over more than a hundred years. Her work was influenced by all the significant events of history - world wars, revolutions, and other cataclysms. The life of the enterprise either flourished or faded when the owners were forced to switch to trading in cereals and sugar.

But each time Jacobs was reborn like a Phoenix from the ashes, eventually becoming a leader in sales of coffee products.

At the end of the 20th century, coffee in the iconic green packaging came to Russia. After some time, Jacobs Monarch coffee packaging companies even appeared in our country. Here, as at other factories, they produce:

  • roasting and grinding coffee beans;
  • product extraction;
  • sublimation of the extract in the form of deep freezing and vacuum drying.

The high quality of products is the result of the introduction of the latest technologies into production. Now the Russian branch of the company supplies various brands of Jacobs instant coffee to the vast domestic market. In addition, the company packages powder and granular products coming from Western European enterprises.

The secret of the brand's success is explained simply: Jacobs is coffee of excellent quality, with excellent taste and aroma properties and a fairly low cost.

At first, Russians were content with only Jacobs Monarch instant coffee, but now Jacobs brand products are presented in full in grocery stores.

True, for true coffee lovers, real coffee is far from instant, but ground Jacobs coffee, because, as you know, this is a raw material without impurities, without any chemical additives.

Jacobs Monarch beans

This is a mixture of two varieties of coffee beans, Arabica and Robusta. These varieties combine perfectly with each other and make the drink more delicate and soft, as well as a delicate aroma. Medium doneness and a refined aftertaste. If you have the ability to grind coffee beans at home, this is definitely an option worth choosing. You will enjoy the incomparable smell of freshly ground coffee.

They also sell coffee machines that are specifically designed for pouring beans.

Arabica gives the drink a slight sourness, and robusta adds strength.

The Jacobs brand produces the following types of coffee:

Arabica gives the finished drink a rich aroma and delicate taste, which contains a slight sourness. Robusta adds strength to coffee due to its high caffeine content.
  2. Jacobs Monarch ground coffee goes on sale in a vacuum pack. It comes in two types: Espresso in a black pack and Kroning in a green pack. Kroning is made in Bremen, where the Jacobs brand was originally founded. Very fine grinding of the beans allows you to prepare an invigorating drink either in the usual way or in a cup.

It is in demand among business people who love natural coffee, but do not have enough time to brew it.

Instant coffee - classification and selection criteria

Due to the wide range of this product, choosing coffee is quite difficult, because each type of mixture has a different composition, and the most famous recipes for making coffee drinks have long been sold in ready-made forms. They come in different packages and contain different dosages.

Soluble (freeze-dried) coffee particles are crystals that form when frozen coffee beans dry.

What to look for when choosing coffee? One of the important criteria is the dosage of the package. Depending on its type, the product can be disposable (for one use) or large in volume.

Dosed coffee is designed for one-time use in the amount of one cup. It will help out those who are on the go or do not currently have free time for traditional coffee preparation. The release form of “single” doses is usually rectangular or square and is a small bag of thin aluminum foil. Piece options come with or without sugar, and contain milk and other additives. Mixed versions of your favorite drinks are also on sale: latte, mocha, espresso, Arabica, Americano, cappuccino and ristretto.

Before purchasing a large volume of a product, it is wise to try its individual version to understand the quality of the product and its taste.

Large volume packages are sold from 35 grams and above (up to 2 kg). These mixtures do not contain sugar. This type of coffee is classified by type: natural, instant, or a combination of ground and instant.

Carefully. When drinking about 15 cups of coffee per day, hallucinations or other disorders associated with a person’s nervous state may occur.

Instant coffee mixtures contain less caffeine than ground or beans, as a result of which their price segment is much lower.

What is the most economical way to buy freeze-dried goods? When purchased individually, for testing, the price of the bag does not matter for the family budget. It’s a completely different matter to buy a large volume. Look at the net weight, the number of servings per package and its price, and then make simple calculations:

  1. Take a couple of brands to consider.
  2. Calculate the price of each package by dividing the price by the entire mass. This will give you the price of one gram.
  3. Compare the benefits and feel free to buy the packaging you like from the company you choose.

Sometimes the price of a product is inflated due to the popularity/promotion of the brand, although the composition and taste characteristics, at first glance, seem identical. The choice, as always, remains with the buyer. Let us only note that Russian-made products cost less than foreign ones, without being inferior to them in quality and taste criteria.

Instant coffee

It is produced using the “freeze-drying” technology, thanks to which the coffee is obtained in crystals. Jacobs monarch is a classic taste, but this time it’s already in crystals. Jacobs velour is the only powdered coffee in the entire line that produces a lush, dense foam.

To brew coffee, it is recommended to use water at 85 degrees. To do this, you need to boil the kettle and let it cool for a couple of minutes. Although now there are kettles on which you can specify the required temperature.

Jacobs gold – very intense aroma due to soft roasting. Jacobs monarch intense – for lovers of strong, bitter coffee. Jacobs monarch decaff – coffee with the lowest possible caffeine content.
